Through despondent minds

The daybreak complains about the dark skies,
The widows tears are just silenced crimes,
The wind howls through the trees,
The absent kid had more to plead.
When someone dies we are all dumb,
With cocaine eyes we are all numb,
Temptation slips right through the cracks,
You stare at your feet but will not collapse.
From the ripple of the pond to the pattern of the ceiling,
I stare at the sky and have no feeling.

Self Actualisation

The hours are dull, but the time is great.
The place is dead, but the reasons negate.
The weather is cold, but in the building it's warm.
Run if you want, but you can't predict a storm.
The words are mute, but your eyes are stunning.
Questions of doubt, and why aren't you running.
Too good to be true, too true to be good.
Mistakes rest on the self, just like they should.
In a lonely house, in a lonely town,
In a lonely room, from a lonely ground.
Stared at myself, in past recollection,
Feelings without words and a tearful reflection.
Falls to the lonely ground, baring on the knees,
Holds the song to the head, and shoots with the breeze.

Guess

Ten million years have gone by in my mind,
As the time on my watch is really just guessing,
Letting the old breeze flow through my hair,
Letting the new light fall upon the desperate and despair.

Letting us celebrate birthdays in an imaginable time,
Our small simple soul price has no offers to comprehend.
Nobody wants to be on the losing team,
Nobody wants nothing anymore, but I have a lot of nothing to give.
I am still boundlessly shedding light in everything instead of throwing rocks at a dead horse.

Who are people to judge you when they don't know anything you have been through?

Like the time on my watch I want you to guess,
Guess in your mind before I blow it away,
That is of course if you think you know me.

One Faded Picture

Starring at one faded picture like it's a loaded gun,
If the memories were so good, why is this feeling so bad?
Your smile drifts off the image like the sea to the sun,
Regretting I've lost, what I've once could have had.

I cannot recall your words, but I remember your eyes,
You looked at me, like your princess in the sky.
It was easy for us to laugh, everything was ours,
We could just "get it," and we had no scars.

Fading apart, like the picture in hand,
We were getting older and life was making plans.
I was moving forward, selfishly, unconsciously dumb,
You were always there, standing out like a sore thumb.

Time is relentless, and these scars are all over,
Hope was still present as we were growing older.
I've lost most my words, and still look in your eyes,
Remembering you always, as my prince in the sky.

A wall of utter sadness echoes out a tear,
My eyes are weathered now, from over the years.
I heard you were doing great, and asked about me,
Starring at a picture, longing to be.

Perspective

Staring at a blank page,
Sorrow drowns your thoughts,
We are all staring blank,
Regretting what we've lost.
A whole nation falling down,
Stuck here grinding my teeth,
Our whole lives, our drowning,
I'd rather be six feet deep.
